Toxicity:   Cardiac arrhythmias (PVC's and ventricular tachycardia especially in the presence of hypoxemia or the use of halogenated hydrocarbon anesthetics), renal vascular ischemia (depending upon the balance of increased cardiac output and increased systemic vascular resistance) and severe hypertension (potentially associated with IVH) are all potentially associated with the use of norepinephrine. Local tissue necrosis can follow infiltration of the drug into tissue or infusion into distal extremities.
