How to Use the Orange Book
Navigating this site is fairly easy. The labeled buttons will link you to page listing medications (either generic or many brand name) in alphabetical order. For example, click on the A to C button to be taken to a page to look up ampicillin. Scroll down the page to ampicillin and click on the name of the medication which is linked to the home page for that particular drug. The site lists essential information about the drug as well as hyperlinks embedded in the text to allow you to explore more information about its use and toxicity. There is also a page listing recent updates and additions of new drugs (Updates & Additions) as well as the date the changes were made. Finally, there is an Extra Information page. Think of it as the junk drawer of information that contains the rubber band or paper clip you suddenly can't do without. Curious about the name of this site, click on to the Foreward.
